The Bracknell & Ascot Pool League
YOUNG GUNS
What is the YOUNG GUNS Tour??
The Young Guns Tours are a series of 8 Ball Pool competitions that will be run once a month throughout this year.
Each tour will hopefully consist of up to 16 players who must all be under the age of 18.
The players will play in either a group or divisional basis up to either the quarter or semi finals where the competition then becomes a straight KO up until the final.
Ranking points will be awarded to the players who progress from the Quarter Finals up until the Final
Quarter Finalist – 4 Points - Semi Finalist – 6 Pts - Finalist – 8 Pts - Winner – 12 Pts
All the players points will be carried over each month and a Young Guns ranking tables will be available to see on the Bracknell website.
What is the YOUTH GRAND PRIX CHAMPIONSHIPS??
The Youth Grand Prix Championships is a national tournament run by the EPA [English Pool Association]
Because it is such a huge event which covers the whole of England it is sectioned and regionalized throughout the country and players need to win their way through qualifying events.
The first qualifying event for the Berkshire section will be played alongside the Young Guns Tour.
There will be five GRAND PRIX Qualifying events which will run each month from March until July.
The ranking points will stay the same as the Young Guns system but as separate tables.
At the end of the fifth GRAND PRIX Qualifying event in July the top four highest ranked players will be entered into the Regional Finals which will take place in August.
This will be held at one venue and will be played over the course of one day.
The top four players who qualified through the GRAND PRIX Berkshire section, will then play all the players who qualified through their own county qualifiers.
This will mean that they will play against players from – Surrey, Sussex, Kent, London & Hampshire.
This is called The Region 7 Section. There are another 6 regions throughout the country.
The qualifying players from this will then be entered into the National Finals and then the winners of that will be entered into the European Finals
So as you can see, this event is huge and well worth the challenge
What else does the Young Guns Tour offer
Apart from the actual Young Guns monthly Tour and The Youth Grand Prix the Young Guns offers lots more to any pool player who is under the age of 18.
Tuition – Learn to play the game of pool and become a better player.
Since the Young Guns started this time last year we are proud to say that two of the Young Guns players have gone on to gain full England Youth Team recognition.
I am not saying that every player who comes to the Young Guns tour is going to do this, but they will certainly be given the chance if they want to give it a go.
The people who run the Young Guns are pool players themselves who have been playing the game for over twenty years.
They will be more than happy to pass on their experience and advice to all of the players and help them to develop their game.

The Young Guns Tour offers the following competitions to all of its tour players.
